Winter's back!

I have trouble sleeping at night. A wonderful side effect of pregnancy. The baby girl keeps kicking so hard at night that it's hard to find a comfy position. But I'm not complaining. I knew perfectly well, what I was asking for. After all, I've been there already. It's just an introduction. Kinda an explanation why I'm up in (what many may call) the middle of the night. Plus I have a severe soar throat. Now I am complaining. Which makes it even harder to fall asleep once I'm up at night. It's not like I get up, I'm simply wide awake. When I was pregnant with Artur, I used that time to catch up on my reading. Every night I spent 2-3 hours reading books, and then I was going back to sleep. I still believe that I'm not at that stage yet, but maybe I should try doing it.

Anyway, that is not why I'm writing all this. I woke up yesterday very early morning (still probably middle of the night to many people) and, don't know why as I usually don't do it, felt the nudge to look out the window. And so I did. And saw something I coldn't have expected! Ok, frankly speaking, I could have, as the evening before I heard weather forecast peopl saying something about have snowfall and stuff, but... the extent of it? The world was covered with 15-20 cm of that white, cold, fluffy and wet thing called snow! A winter wonderland! Every single thing, every tiniest branch of the tree that we have outta our bedroom window was covered with so much snow that it could barely hold. During the day most of it melted, though.

This morning I woke up to this exactly same picture! A fresh 20 cm layer of snow. And this time it stayed! Winter must be back, huh? I'm wondering for how long, though.

The pictures weren't taken today, sorry. They present January winter. But it's as beautiful as today's one, I promise ;)

Leżę i dumam.

It's gonna be a ...

Hello. No, I haven't forgotten about you. I'm a bit sick, again. Yeah, that's what it is - going to work at this time of year, when many people come to work sick. They think that if they take fervex, gripex or any other -ex (medicine for cold), then that's ok. And then it's not contageous. Well, they have no idea how wrong they are. And since I can't take any of the above mentioned, it takes me much more time to get better. Anyway...

I have news. It's huge! And fresh as well. We're going to have a GIRL! Yeah, that's the hot news of yesterday's evening! We're so happy! And especially Artur, although he's been saying right from the beginning, that he's gonma have a sister. Why? Cause sisters tidy up after themselves (and boys not? Well, said by a boy, after all).

Preps of another travel post are in progress. And soon, I'm going to post my first recipe post! That's new, but I'm gonna try that out for once ;)

I'm a happy, happy person right now. Not so much because it's gonna be a girl, but because I KNOW, who it's going to be. Have a great weekend!

I świeżuteńką! Cóż, w końcu powiedział to chłopiec).

It’s been a great (and busy) weekend. On Friday afternoon Artur was getting back from his kindergarden with his grandpa. He got on the bus and headed straight to the front, to the seat next to the bus driver. After all, when you’re in the front, you can see everything on the road. Anyhow, the seat was occupied by a roughly-sixty-years-old lady. My father asked her to hold Artur’s hand while he validates the ticket. When he got back, Artur was already deep in the conversation with the lady. He was holding a drawing that he made earlier that day and wanted to get home. What he did instead was give the drawing to that lady, saying at the same time – ‘I made it for you. Here you are’. They talked a bit about that and then she took out a pack of biscuits from her bag and said – ‘I’ve got something for you, too’. Oh, to be a kid again ;)

Apart from that, I’m really proud of what I did during the weekend. I made donuts. Polish kind, though. And faworki (that’s probably our specialty, really crispy sort of snack). I made donuts for the first time ever, and even though I was terrified while making them, they turned out (I’m humble, I know) delicious!  My grandma used to make these. Since she’s gone, we’ve been only buying some. This year, don’t know why, I’ve decided to make some myself. erfect for the upcoming "Fat Thursday" - last Thursday before Ash Wednesday (nuh, they're not gonna make it till Thursday).

Zamiast go donieść do domu, wręczył go tejże pani ze słowami – ‘narysowałem dla ciebie.

A mianowicie usmażyłam pączki :) i faworki. Raczej go nie doczekają ;)

Here they are – pictures are of poor quality, but that’s too late to correct it right now ;)

And here's my little boy in preparation for his costume party tomorrow in his kindergarden.
A to mój mały chłopczyk przygotowujący się do jutrzejszego balu karnawałowego w przedszkolu.

A really short skiing trip

We had winter. For some time. And last Monday it all started melting, it started raining and last night and today the wind has been blowing so stroooong! It's scary to even open the door. You don't know if after a few seconds you're still gonna have something to shut...

But not about that, not about that.

We went skiing on Saturday. Obviously, I wasn't skiing. I've never done that. And being pregnant is probably not the best time to start learning how to do it. But Artur was trying it out for the first time. And a happy mum as I was (and feeling much better than during the previous days) I was taking pictures of the three guys - the two adults trying to teach the child how to ski. Anyhow, we all had a great time! And that was the point! Even though it was really freezing!

Oh, and one new thing. I've decided to make this blog a bilingual space. But these are not gonna be direct translations. Although they're gonna state roughly the same. Grandma, I''m doing it for you :)

I o to przecież chodziło! Nawet mimo paskudnego mrozu ;)

I jedna nowość.

The big comeback and the big coming out

It's been a looong time. I'm really hipong I'm back here. Can't promise anything, though. You know how it is when you really, really want to do something, but simply can't do it... Still, keep your fingers crossed and I'll do the same, and maybe that'll work.

I'm sick right no. Sitting on a chair under a warm blanket with warm socks on my feet drinking hot tea while writing this post. Afterall I'm taking care not only of myself. And here comes the big news that's been kinda keeping me away from this blog. From writing, from browsing through pictures, from taking pictures... I'm pregnant. Just started my 19th week, so almost half of it is already behind me. And the beginning wasn't easy - hence the break. If you can think of some drawbacks at the beginning of pregnancy... hey, I've probably had that. Plus that hatred towards pictures... No idea where that comes from. But I can remember quite vividly that when I was pregnant with Artur I couldn't read one of my favoured author's books! And still haven't read it... I just can't make myself do it. I've read his others books since then (even one still at the hospital, after giving birth to my son - I have no idea how it is in your countries, but in Poland you have to stay at the hospital at least two whole days after giving birth, and I had to stay four due to c-section), but can't make myself read that particular one. Hope it's not gonna be the same with my pictures from the time! I'm really looking forward to showing you Tatra Mountains! Though I feel it's still not the time...

So... that's basically it. I'm staying in bed right now hoping to get better soon. Really soon. And for the first time since I got rid of it (and it's been over a year and a half), I start missing my laptop. That would be so helpful in writing posts while I'm in bed. Now I have to get downstairs to get to the computers and I just don't feel like doing that... It's much more comfy to stay in bed than to sit on a chair. It's gonna get better soon!

Hope to be writing another post for you soon!

Lost... somewhere...

Hi guys!

Sorry for this really long absence of mine. I know, there's no excuse. Well, there is one. But I'm not going to get into details yet. Youll probably find out soon enough anyhow.

I just wanted to let you know that there are still stories waiting for you. I haven't forgotten about you. And about the stories either. You'll just need a bit more of patience to get to know them.

I'm not going to come back here for a bit longer. Sorry. I hope it's going to be less than more time spent apart from writing. But it's not really my chooice. Well, to some extent.

I'm reading your blogs, though. Trying to be up to date with all the news. Just not sharing my own.

So I am somewhere here. Can you feel my presence? ;) Yeah, I'm just a bit off the track with writing... Happens to everybody at some point ;)

See... ekhem... read you and write you soon! I hope ;)
