A little beach break

I have so much to write about our few days in Cinque Terre that I don't really know what I should start with. I still need some time after the whole end of December/beginning of January whirlwind to sort it all out and figure it all out for myself. Only then I can share it with you, so that it makes at least a little sense ;)

Until then... No, I'm not going to remain silent. I will share other stuff as well. But today I will write a few words on Cinque Terre. Excited? I defintely am!

It was Sunday. That I can remember perfectly well. That was our last full day in Cinque Terre. The next day was our transfer day back to Pisa (and then back home in the evening). At the same time, it was the prettiest day of all. It was warm, but that wasn't anything new. But it was sunny and the sky remained cloudless the whole day. That was definitely new. We decided to use the day to the maximum and we actually did quite a lot that day.

We decided to attend the mass first thing in the morning. In Corniglia? No. We decided to go to Monterosso. Why, you might wonder. Wasn't there a church in Corniglia? Of course there was. I'm not sure if you can find an Italian town or village without a church (in that sense, it's so similar to Poland). We decided to go to Monterosso cause right before the church we went to the playground (there is no such place in Corniglia or we haven't found one) and right after the church we went to the beach. In mid-October. And it was amazing! Just have a look yourselves!

Right after the beach break (break from what?) we were all ready to conquer the Cinque Terre National Park. Yes, we did hike. We live at the sea, so that is pretty normal to us, but if we are in the mountains, we try to hike at least a little ;) But more on that some other time :)

Potrzebuję jeszcze chwilki, by ogarnąć wszystko po zawirowaniach około świątecznych i noworocznych. Muszę sobie to wszystko poukładać i przemyśleć.

A tymczasem... Nie, nie zamilknę. Będę pisać na inne tematy. Choć dzisiaj jednak napiszę kilka słów o Cinque Terre. Nie możecie się doczekać? Ja na pewno nie mogę!

To była niedziela. To pamiętam doskonale.

W Cornigli? Nie. Postanowiliśmy pojechać do Monterosso.

If you had a choice, would you rather go to the sea or to the mountains?
A Wy, jeżeli mielibyście wybór, wybralibyście wyjazd nad morze czy w góry?

    1. Cinque Terre is perfect, though I have seen better beaches in Europe ;) But the views make up for the tinyness and discomfort of the beaches there :) I definitely recommend it. Thanks for dropping by!

  2. Beautiful! Cinque Terre is (so far) my favorite area of Italy and I am a total beach girl... I would choose beach over mountains almost any day :) Looks like you had a fantastic day. I wouldn't have thought it would be warm enough to swim in October!

    1. We didn't expect it was going to be that warm either. Especially with the land slides of October 2011. But, just in case, we took our bathing suits with us. And I was so glad we did. As for Italy, I did enjoy Sicily a lot as well. And, as we live at the seaside, we try to squeee in mountains anytime we can. But combined, as in Cinque Terre (or Tenerife!), they are the best!

  3. Wow - what beautiful weather for October! I always have a hard time choosing between mountains and beach. It's nice when you can get a combination of both. I'd love to visit the coastline of Maine as their mountains reach right to the sea.

    1. We didn't expect such a beautiful weather either. Especially considering our previous days there. But, apparently, we did deserve that ;) I choose mountains whenever I can, but combined is always the best option for me. But since we live at the seaside and can go to the beach whenever we want to, doesn't make me long for beach holidays all that much ;) Thanks for the recommendation of Maine!
