Tourist spots in London

The first time Arturek heard of London was when we were reading Cars 2 book. The last part of World Grand Prix took place in London. So we read about Big Bentley, where Tow Mater was imprisoned. And we read about Buckingham Palace, where they met the queen. Plus we told him all about the Tower and Tower Bridge, which he found fascinating. So we couldn't leave London without showing him these places, could we?

First we got to Buckingham Palace. It was in the afternoon and we were shocked there were so few people around. The next day we got to see Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and London Eye. And later we got to walk down the Tower Bridge and past the Tower (no, we didn't get inside. I've been there... well, nineteen years ago, but shush about that, Krzysiek hasn't been there, but we decided that kids were too young to take them there. Some other time, when they're older). So we managed to see a few of the tourist spots this time as well.

I've been to the City for the first time. I had to go to Bank of England to exchange the old 20 quid banknotes for the new ones. And that was awesome (yes, I am strange, but that was great. With the guy greeting you at the entrance and all... ;)). I had a bit of trouble finding the right building cause when I got off the tube all the buildings looked the same to me. But for me there's no such thing as impossible. After a little while, I got to the right building. I even got asked for directions at the tube station. Is it cause of my hair colour? ;) (I was alone, the rest of the party were at the museum).

A lady driver at easybus tried to rob us of (what was it?) 50 (?) quid for luggage that she said we couldn't take with us (although I read the rules and regulations and I knew we could), so we waited for another bus and, guess what? yes, we could take all our luggage with us without extra payments.

And we ate delicious lunch at Luton Airport! At Frankie & Benny's. Their black and blue burger is to die for! And they have a rich childern's menu. We were almost late for our flight cause of their delicious food ;) That was a great end to a great trip.

Travelling with kids is fun!

Bodajże podczas czytania książki Auta 2 Arturek po raz pierwszy usłyszał o Londynie. Ostatni etap World Grand Prix miał się odbyć właśnie w Londynie. Więc czytaliśmy o Big Bentley, w którym Złomek został uwięziony. I o Pałacu Buckingham, gdzie poznali królową. A my opowiadaliśmy mu o Tower i Tower Bridge, który go bardzo zafascynował. Więc jak mogliśmy opuścić Londyn bez zobaczenia tych miejsc? Nie mogliśmy.

Najpierw dotarliśmy do Pałacu Buckingham.

Musiałam iść do Bank of England, żeby wymienić stare dwudziestofuntówki na nowe. ;)).

W restauracji Frankie & Benny's.
