Plans for 2015... finally ;)

Wow, it's February already. There's so much going on in my life these days that I don't really know when one day ends and another begins.

It took us a lot of time, a lot of thinking and debating, but I'm thrilled to announce that we've finally made our peace about travel destinations for this year! Yay! So, roughly, here it goes.

1. Spain / Hiszpania
Our first trip is taking place in April. We're taking our kids and going to the Canary Islands. After seeing Tenerife a few years back, we've decided that it's a perfect place to travel with kids. This time we're going to Fuerteventura. A bit different than Tenerife and I'm hoping for the best.

2. Germany / Niemcy
I've never been to Berlin. Shame on me. I lived in Poznań for about five years and never made it to Berlin. Which makes my statement even worse. If you've ever lived in Poznan, you'd know what I mean. However, I'm willing to fix this little bug in my travel experience. We're taking our kids to the Tropical Islands and we want to see at least a little bit of Berlin at that same time as well. That's happening in June.

Nigdy nie byłam w Berlinie. Wstyd, wiem. To będzie miało miejsce w czerwcu.

3. Poland / Polska
For our main family holidays this year we're staying in Poland. We're taking our kids to the southern parts of our country. We want to visit Czestochowa, Ojców National Park, Wieliczka and spent the vast majority of our time exploring Pieniny Mountains. We've been there a few years back (Pieniny Mountains) and consider it to be a perfect destination for family holidays. A lot of things to do. Many hiking trails that are not that demanding, so perfect for the little ones. Castles. Mysteries. Sheep (Paulinka loves sheep). And that atmosphere... Well, you have to experience it to know what I'm talking about. We're also planning a short trip to Slovakia while we're there (e.g. to see the Red Monastery). So that would be August.

Za główny cel rodzinnego wyjazdu wakacyjnego obraliśmy sobie Polskę. Zabieramy dzieci na południe kraju. Chcemy odwiedzić Częstochowę, Ojcowski Park Narodowy, Wieliczkę, a zdecydowaną większość czasu spędzić odkrywając uroki Pienin. Dużo do robienia. Zamki. Owieczki (Paulinka uwielbia owieczki). I ta atmosfera...

4. Egypt / Egipt
We're willing to give Egypt a second chance. Last time we were planning a trip to Egypt, the uprising began. And instead of going to Egypt, we went to Tenerife (was also great and I wouldn't have chosen Tenerife for our travel destination hadn't it been for that situation. So I'm even more grateful for that). Ever since then, Artur has already been to Egypt with my parents. We haven't been there yet. We're not taking our kids on that trip - yes, it's going to be just me and my hubby. I'm planning to see as much as we can, but also spend a few days bathing in the warm Red Sea. Say hello to Egypt in October.

Postanowiliśmy dać Egiptowi drugą szansę. Gdy ostatnio mieliśmy jechać do Egiptu, wybuchły zamieszki. My tam jeszcze nie dotarliśmy.

Apart from those long(er) distance trips, we're also planning to get back to our put aside plan of getting to know our immediate neighbourhood better. Day or weekend trips are also pencilled in and I hope we'd be able to make them happen.

  1. Wow, those all sounds like great travel plans (and quite varied)! Berlin is such a cool city, though a bit overwhelming with how big it is! Be sure to book tickets ahead to go into the Reichstag dome - it's free but you need to reserve. Such a cool view! And your trip within Poland sounds so fun too! Can't wait to read more about your 2015 travels :-)

    1. Thanks for the tip on Berlin. I'll keep that in mind. It has been like two weeks since I posted and I would most likely already have to adjust my plans to the new situation ;) But that's fine with us anyway. We'll see in a month what the result is ;)

  2. Wow, what an exciting year!!! I'm a teensy bit jealous of all those exotic destinations, but also glad because I'll be able to "see" them through your posts! :)

    1. Yeah, the jealous thing works both ways. What's common to you is exotic to me ;) But, as you said, I'm also glad to find out all about them through you :)

    1. Yes, we've been planning that trip for quite some time, too. But when my father told me that they're planning to close the Valley of Kings and make it available only via computer programmes, I decided to finally go there. No, I have no idea when that's going to happen, but I already know that they keep closing more and more there. So sad, but they want to save it from being totally devastated and I do appreciate that.

  4. So exciting, and such a great variety of places! Having travel plans to look forward to is the best thing :) Especially when it is more than one trip.

    1. That's true. It's always easier to get back home when you know that another adventure is already waiting for you.
