2014 in a nutshell

We have seen more in 2014 than I ever expected to see. Some of our trips were planned way in advance, others were more spontaneous. We managed to step our feet in six different European countries (including Poland). Considering the fact that we have a baby in the house, I'd say that was a lot.

Each of our trips was different. Each was memorable. Each had its great moments. I'm about to share with you my favourite travel memories of 2014:

1. Standing on the stairs (and Dome) of Sacre Coeur and looking down at warm and sunny Paris.
Patrzenie na ciepły i słoneczny Paryż ze schodów (i kopuły) Sacre Coeur
2. Making my childhood dreams come true by meeting Mickey Mouse in Disneyland Paris.
Spełnienie dziecięcych marzeń i spotkanie z Myszką Miki w Disneyland Paris.
 3. Relaxing in the pools of Lalandia before spending a whole day in Legoland.
Relaks w basenach Lalandii przed całodziennym pobytem w Legolandzie.
 4. Seeing the excitement on Arturek's face when he finally got to see Big Ben.
Radość malująca się na twarzy Arturka, gdy po raz pierwszy zobaczył Big Bena.
 5. Climbing up a lighthouse to look down at the place where I spent the first years of my life.
Wspinaczka na latarnię morską, by spojrzeć z góry na miejsce, w którym spędziłam pierwsze lata swojego życia.
 6. Seeing Copernicus in his hometown and learning to make gingerbread cookies
Zobaczenie Kopernika w jego mieście i uczenie się robienia pierniczków.
 7. Finally being able to see all five of the Cinque Terre and hiking between them.
W końcu zobaczenie wszystkich pięciu Cinque Terre i wędrówki między nimi.
8. Feeling as if on top of the world when looking down at Alesund, enjoying colourful sunrises and sunsets overs fjords.
Czuć się, jakby się zdobyło szczyt świata, gdy spogląda się w dół na Alesund, a także podziwia kolorowe wschody i zachody słońca nad fiordami.

  1. Whoa- what an incredible year! + Disneyland AND Legoland! Admittedly I would love to go to Legoland- it just looks special :) How was the gingerbread museum in Torun? Happy New Year to you!

    1. The goal of our spring trip was to see those two parks. I was happy we managed to achieve that goal. Both Disneyland and Legoland are great, though they resort to different kinds of childhood dreams ;) I personally liked Legoland much better. Because there were shorter lines there and we could do so much more there. The gingerbread museum was awesome. Seriosuly. So much fun, so much laughter. That is a kind of a workshop, not really a museum ;) Definitely worth a visit, both for kids and for adults. Thanks for dropping by and Happy New Year to you, too!

  2. Hello! I found your blog through the Travel Tuesday link-up :-) Love your year in review - and definitely impressive to do all that with little ones! I went to the same gingerbread museum in Torun this year. It was a lot of fun, although funny since my hubby and I were the only adults there without kids! Love your photos of Cinque Terre - that is one place I would absolutely love to visit someday. Wishing you a wonderful 2015!

    1. Hi! Nice to see you here :) The Gingerbread Museum was a lot of fun. That's true that many people with kids go there. And I can't blame them, cause it is a lot of fun (we went there with kids, too). When we were there, the majority were adults without kids, though :) There was a trip of teachers there with us ;) And they had as much fun as the ones with kids ;)
Cinque Terre was truly amazing and a dream come true. We visited off season, which didn't guarantee good weather (does it ever, though? ;)), but was much less crowded.
Thanks for dropping by and Happy New Year to you, too!

  3. Wow! I need to go back and read about your visit to the fjords! I think one of my favorite travel moments of this year was seeing Big Ben in February. :)

    1. Hi Katrina! I haven't managed to mention the fjords yet (shame on me, I know), but I will, hopefully ;) You could so totally talk to my son about the Big Ben then :) He wanted to see it for himself as he's seen it in the "Cars 2" book and movie. I managed to send you an e-mail last evening, hope you got it.
